HOW TO MAKE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

This is the ultimate chocolate chip cookies recipe: Crunchy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside, and super easy to make!

It is one of the easiest cookie recipes to make: just mix the chocolate chips with the rest of the ingredients, place the dough balls on the tray, and bake. This way, you will have delicious cookies, all in just 30 minutes!

Do you want to succeed in making some biscuits but do not have much time? Do not hesitate, here you have the definitive recipe!

This recipe is so tasty and so easy to make that, together with the oat biscuits recipe, they have become the two cookie recipes I make the most.

The final result is a cookie that is hard on the outside and super crunchy at first, but as soon as you keep chewing you discover its soft and juicy texture on the inside… Pure delight! And besides this, you have to add the pleasure of finding chocolate chips in every bite! My mouth is watering just thinking about it!

You only have to beat the butter and sugar and mix in 2 steps with the rest of the ingredients until everything is well mixed. You will obtain a dough that, using a spoon or your hands, you will place balls from the mixture on the baking tray and press them down and cook until golden brown.

And, like the oat biscuits recipe, once they have cooled, do not forget to store them in an airtight container (to prevent them from getting damp and losing their crunchiness) and eat them whenever you like.

Although you may not need an airtight container and a simple plate is enough… If you put the cookies in a simple plate, you may find that they dissapear in no time, before loosing their crunchiness.

Quantities shown on this page are to make about 12 cookies, but if you double the amounts of ingredients, for a little more effort… You will have twice as many biscuits!

CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

INGREDIENTS (For 12 cookies)

Ing ChocoChipCookies
  • 180 g wheat flour
  •  120 g chocolate chips
  • 90 g sugar
  • 80 g butter
  • 1 egg (L Size)
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A hint of salt

PREPARATION

Preheat the oven to 180 ºC. Heat top and bottom, without a fan. Place baking paper on a baking tray.

Beat the butter and sugar until you have a light and fluffy texture.

Add the egg and the vanilla extract and continue beating.

Now add the rest of the ingredients (flour, chocolate chips, baking powder, and salt) and mix them until achieving the right consistency. And you may be wondering, What does “right consistency” means? Look at the pictures to see how the dough evolves and when you should mix it!

You have to achieve a homogeneous dough; without traces of flour on the sides of the bowl and with no differentiation of ingredients (apart from the chocolate chips, which will be visible).

Take a spoonful of dough or use a weighting scale to obtain cookies of similar size. This recipe weighs around 500 g of dough, so you can make:

  • 10 cookies of 50 g each
  • 12 cookies of 42 g each
  • 20 cookies of 25 g each
  • Cookies with the weight you want!

I have decided to make 12 cookies, but you can make them however many you want! You only have to take into account that they have similar sizes, so they will have homogeneous baking. Oh! And the right size tray.

Before placing them on the tray, finish rounding the dough with another spoon or simply balling the dough using your own hands (it is quite easy as the recipe has butter, so the dough will not stick in your hands), place the balls of dough on the tray and flatten them a little, but not too much to avoid them from being too flat and sticking together.

There may be a lot of dough on the outside and the chocolate chips may not be very visible… There you have a couple of tips to make your cookies more appealing:

  • When you finish balling and placing the cookies in the tray, use your fingers to remove some of the dough and leave the chips visible and strategically placed
  • If not, save some chips (about 3 – 4 per cookie) to place on top of the cookies just before baking

If you do not do this, the cookies will be just as tasty, but the visual will be less “chocrottactive”!

Bake for 10 – 12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and crunchy (the centre of the cookies will be soft).

Once baked, remove the tray from the oven and let the cookies cool on a wire rack. Now all you have to do is enjoy them!
