Imagine the joy in your children´s eyes as they work to create unique and special Christmas ornaments. They can stamp their little hands and fingerprints on the dough or unleash their imagination with festive shapes (Christmas trees, Christmas stars, snowflakes, Gingerman, etc.)

Do you leave them as they come out of the oven, with a beautiful white colour, or do you prefer to paint them? The choice is yours and your children´s, and the best part is that you can personalise them however you like.

The large amount of salt in the recipe gives them the characteristic white colour and allows them to last a long time. However, keep in mind that mixing with your own hands can cause your skin to dry out, so you can use a mixer or gloves for safety.

After that, you only need to roll the dough out with a rolling pin until the dough is less than 1 cm thick. 5 mm thick would be perfect.

The thinner the biscuits, the better they will dry out and the longer they will last. But remember that they will also be more fragile, so do not make them too thin.

As you have seen, these biscuits contain a lot of salt and will not spoil over time. But why not turn this into an annual tradition?

You will have a lot of fun with these ornaments, and you will want to do it again every year. So, while you could store the biscuits from one year to the next (properly sealed in an airtight bag to prevent moisture), the real joy is to create new Christmas biscuits every year.

So, as Christmas approaches, let your creativity flow, engage your children, family and friends and create these lovely and incredible easy Christmas souvenirs. The magic of Christmas starts in your kitchen!
